This was again part of the Lowestoft GP build-up. Published on the Friday, before the weekend’s racing began, it was also used to promote the efforts of Lings mechanic Kevin Turner in his own powerboat series on Oulton Broad. Again, this involved information-gathering about his boat and the series itself. It was the final piece before the race weekend.
Lings Launch Lowestoft GP to Press
September 25, 2008
After the success of the first Lowestoft GP press release, I was asked to follow it up with a write-up of the Honda Formula 4-Stroke Press Day, launching the Lowestoft Air Show and the Grand Prix itself to local press and radio. This was also the time we began seriously discussing putting together a full Sponsorship Brochure.

Build-Up to Lowestoft Powerboat Grand Prix
September 25, 2008
This was part of the build-up to the Lowestoft Formula 4-Stroke Grand Prix. As the home race for the Lings Racing team this was the most important race of the season for the team, and as such required significant build-up press both in print and online. This press release, my first ‘official’ work for Lings, was to be used as the basis for the F4SA own releases on the Grand Prix. In the event, they were so pleased with what was presented to them it was actually used by Honda UK as their official PR for the event. (.pdf of the Honda Press Release available on request)

Honda Powerboats to Wow London Crowds
September 25, 2008
This was a brief article highlighting the Honda Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat display at the London City Airport Fun Day. Lings would not actually be participating, so the brief was to make it appear as if they were involved without drawing attention to their non-availability.
Lings Racing Powerboat Team: The Story Of The Season
September 25, 2008
This was another lengthy project for local Honda/Triumph car and motorcycle dealership PFK Ling Ltd. The company operates a powerboat racing team, competing in the Honda Formula 4-Stroke Offshore Powerboat Series (www.f4sa.com). The remit of this piece was to provide a four-part summary of the team’s fortunes in the 2008 season – their first in their new 225horsepower powerboat. This was published on the Lings website (www.lings.com) and excerpts will be used in a forthcoming Sponsorship Options Brochure that I am currently putting together. The published version of the article, including copywritten images, is available for viewing from the Lings website.
